Today, we held our final dress rehearsal for our church’s “Christmas Spectacular”. Each year we close out our event signing a Christmas song. This year is no exception. It always amazes me how quick the kiddos learn the signs of the songs.

As each child exits off the stage, props and costumes are quickly removed for not only safety but brings assurance that they will remain in one piece – ready for the big event.

As we were getting in position to close out our rehearsal with “our signing song”, I heard the gifted leader that teaches and signs for us say, “Angel wings and signing I can only image what could happen”. We both chuckled, nodding for indeed an angel wing getting caught on their neighboring signer or whacking them – oh what a picture that could be. Definitely, not in the script.

Her words really got me thinking …. An angel wing prop left in place when it should have been removed could lead to a disaster. How often do I leave in place things that I should have discarded. Things that the Holy Spirit has gently showed me that I need to remove from my life. I sat there reflecting as all our cherubs closed out our rehearsal signing beautifully our closing song, And I was so thankful of the lessons that I learned about removing stuff in my life that hinders a closer walk with the true GOD – Jesus Christ.
